Quick answer

For most small businesses in 2026: Meta Business Suite if you only post to Instagram and Facebook (free), Buffer for a simple free start (3 channels), Zoho Social or SocialPilot for mid-priced multi-account plans, Hootsuite for larger teams (from $99/month), and Social Partner for shops in India wanting six platforms for ₹500/month by UPI.

We make Social Partner, one of the tools in this list. We've included it where it fits and described every other tool from its own published pricing, checked on 18 October 2026. Prices change, so confirm on each official page before buying.

Every scheduling tool promises to save you time. The hard part is working out which one fits your business before you've paid for three of them. Pricing pages make it harder: some charge per channel, some per user and some a flat fee.

This comparison puts six popular schedulers side by side using their 2026 pricing pages: what the entry plan costs, what the free option includes and who each tool really suits. If you're still deciding whether you need a tool at all, start with our guide on how to schedule Instagram posts for free.

How do the top social media schedulers compare in 2026?

They split into three groups. Free tools, like Meta Business Suite and Buffer's free plan, cover the basics. Mid-priced tools, like Buffer's paid plans, Zoho Social and SocialPilot, add more accounts and team features. Premium tools, like Hootsuite, target larger teams. The right pick depends on your account count, team size and budget.

On 2026 pricing pages, entry plans for social media schedulers ranged from free (Meta Business Suite and Buffer's 3-channel free plan) to about $5 per channel at Buffer, $25–30 a month at SocialPilot and from $99 per user a month at Hootsuite.

How do you choose the right scheduling tool?

Count three things before comparing prices: how many social accounts you'll connect, how many people need access and which platforms you post to. A per-channel tool is cheap for two accounts but expensive for twelve; a per-user tool is cheap for one person but expensive for a team. Match the pricing model to your setup.

  • Accounts: Instagram, Facebook and Google is already three. Add LinkedIn or YouTube and you're at five.
  • People: will staff or a freelancer post too? Check how each tool charges for extra users.
  • Platforms: confirm the tool supports every platform you need on the plan you're buying, especially Google Business Profile and YouTube.
  • Payment: outside the US, check whether you can pay in local currency and with local methods.
  • Time saved: features like bulk upload and AI captions matter more than long feature lists you won't use.

Our take Run a one-week test with real posts on the free trial or free plan. Schedule your actual week, including one Reel and one Google post. Whatever feels slow in week one will feel slower in month six.

Meta Business Suite: best free option for Instagram and Facebook

Meta Business Suite is Meta's free dashboard for Facebook Pages and Instagram professional accounts. It schedules posts up to 75 days ahead and shows both accounts on one calendar. If those are your only platforms, it may be all you need, though it won't post to Google, YouTube, LinkedIn or X.

  • Strengths: free, official, works on desktop and mobile.
  • Limits: Meta platforms only; no bulk scheduling across other networks.

Buffer: best for a simple free start

Buffer is known for a clean, simple interface. Its free plan covers up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel at a time, and paid plans are priced per channel, starting at about $5 a month for Essentials on its 2026 pricing page. That's very affordable for one or two accounts.

  • Strengths: easy to learn, generous free plan for trying scheduling.
  • Limits: per-channel pricing adds up as you connect more accounts.

Zoho Social: best for small teams already on Zoho

Zoho Social is made by Zoho, an Indian software company, and fits neatly if you already use Zoho CRM or Mail. Capterra lists a free plan for one brand and a Standard plan at $15 a month, or $10 a month billed annually. Zoho shows local pricing in several countries, so check your region's page.

  • Strengths: works with other Zoho apps, flat plan pricing.
  • Limits: best value comes when you're inside the Zoho ecosystem.

SocialPilot: best for many accounts

SocialPilot's plans include several accounts at a flat price. Its pricing page lists Essentials at $30 a month, or about $25 billed annually, for 7 social accounts, with a 14-day free trial and no card needed. It's a common choice for agencies and businesses with several brands.

  • Strengths: many accounts per plan, bulk scheduling, client management.
  • Limits: more than a single small shop usually needs.

Hootsuite: best for larger teams

Hootsuite is one of the oldest names in social media management, with strong reporting and team features. Its plans page lists Standard from $99 per user a month on annual billing, with 10 social accounts and a 14-day free trial. It suits marketing teams more than solo owners.

  • Strengths: analytics, inbox, approvals and enterprise options.
  • Limits: price is high for small businesses.

Social Partner: best for shops in India

Social Partner is our scheduler for local shops and small businesses in India. One plan, ₹500 a month or ₹5,000 a year, covers Instagram, Facebook, Google Business Profile, YouTube, LinkedIn and X, with free AI captions, staff access and bulk upload. You pay by UPI, and there's a 3-day free trial.

  • Strengths: rupee pricing, UPI payments, Google Business Profile included, WhatsApp support.
  • Limits: payments are UPI only for now, and it's built for small businesses rather than large marketing teams.

Which scheduling tool is best for businesses in India?

Check three things that matter more in India than elsewhere: whether you can pay in rupees by UPI or an Indian card, whether Google Business Profile is included, and whether support works in your hours. Many international tools price in US dollars and need a card that allows international payments, which plenty of small businesses don't have.

CheckWhy it matters
Rupee pricingDollar prices change with the exchange rate and may add bank charges.
UPI or Indian cardsMany shops don't have a card enabled for international payments.
Google Business Profile"Near me" searches on Maps bring walk-in customers.
Support in ISTHelp when you need it, not overnight.
Festival planningBulk upload makes it easy to queue a whole festival season.

Zoho Social offers local pricing in India, and Social Partner is priced in rupees with UPI payment. For posting times, see our best time to post in India guide.

Should you pay for a scheduler or stay free?

Stay free while you post to one or two Meta platforms and schedule a few posts a week. Pay once a tool saves you more time than it costs: when you manage several platforms, plan a month at a time, share the work with staff or want AI help writing captions. For most small businesses that point comes quickly.

A quick test: add up the minutes you spend each week copying the same post into different apps. If it's more than an hour, a paid scheduler usually pays for itself. Our small-business social media guide explains how much to post and where.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free social media scheduling tool?

Meta Business Suite is the best free option if you only use Instagram and Facebook, with scheduling up to 75 days ahead. For other platforms, Buffer's free plan covers up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel, which is enough to try scheduling before paying.

What is the cheapest social media scheduler?

Among the tools compared here, Buffer's paid plans start lowest at about $5 per channel per month on its 2026 pricing page. For businesses in India, Social Partner costs ₹500 a month flat for six platforms. The cheapest choice depends on how many accounts you need.

Is Hootsuite worth it for a small business?

Hootsuite suits teams that need advanced features like inbox management and detailed reporting. Its plans start from $99 per user per month on annual billing, which is more than most small shops need. Smaller businesses usually get enough from cheaper tools.

Do scheduling tools hurt reach on Instagram or Facebook?

There's no evidence they do. Reputable tools publish through the platforms' official APIs, the same way native posts are created. Reach depends on content quality, timing and engagement, not on whether a tool pressed publish.

Which scheduler is best for a business in India?

If you pay in rupees and want Google Business Profile included, look for local pricing and UPI or Indian cards. Zoho Social is an Indian company with local pricing, and Social Partner is built for Indian shops at ₹500 a month by UPI. Check each tool's current India pricing page.

Can one tool post to Instagram, Facebook, Google and YouTube?

Yes. Most paid schedulers in this list support several platforms from one calendar. Check the exact list before you subscribe, because support for Google Business Profile, YouTube and X varies by tool and plan.
